The beginning

Well... I'm not sure if I'll be keeping up with this one but I'll try.

This blog will mostly be to host anything I see that interests me, maybe some thoughts on games. Who knows, odds are no one will ever see this. ^_^

What to start about first..... hrm...

Well, E3 is coming up in 2 or so weeks. Which should be interesting (hopefully) Judging by past E3 showings Sony has won them all in terms of content. I'm hoping a little big planet demo would spring up by surprise on the PSN. I dunno what the 360 and Wii are going to show.

I've heard that Microsoft are trying to re-arrange their sku's dropping the "premium" console and replacing that with the elite, and now including a 20gig hard drive with ALL 360's. This would help ALOT for games... especially GTA4. The load times on 360's without hard drives... well you better go make a sandwhich, or conquer Rome, which ever happens first.

The Wii, uh I dunno... all I know is they better start getting some good 3rd party titles going. Or else people are going to start getting sick of the same thing. The lack of 3rd party titles is what killed the Game Cube by the way. So hopefully Nintendo has learned, and aren't going to ride this success for too long.

Uhm, I've been playing alot of Quake Wars: Enemy Territory, needless to say I will be getting this game. It's alot like Battlefield 2, but it takes all the things battlefield does wrong and tosses them out. In Quake Wars, you really feel like your actually helping the team. If your an Engineer as an example you can build anti artillery. So you can stop those pesky strikes from ruining whatever. Standard soldiers have explosives which are needed to break through perimeters. Spec-ops have hacking for...hacking, and the medics don't have too much of a role. However they are going to add in specific Medic goals later on. At the moment medics can revive people, provide health packs and remove/place spawn hosts. Spawn hosts are a Strogg Medic ability. When a enemy dies you can turn their body into a spawn host, which other Strogg can spawn at. Simple.

A few people have been going on about a new game called "Hyperbol" its on Steam. I have a beta key. However I wont get to play it for about a week because my internet usage is running slim. *sigh*

Speaking of beta's.... I've applied for the Warhammer Online beta (twice) that game looks amazing. It of course is the typical WoW formula but it takes the crap out and does it right.
eg:

In WoW you walk upto this human, on the way you have to kill a heap of bears to get to him. When you speak to him he says
"Hey I want you to kill me 10 bears."
to which you would naturally reply.
"What do you think I was doing, theres still bear blood on my sword!"
He stares back at you.
"huh, oh I didn't notice. About those bears..."
So you go out and kill yourself 10 bears, you then go back to the guy and ask for your reward but he says...
"I thought I told you to kill bears"
You reply, with a bit of frustration.
"I DID! I EVEN HAVE THEIR HEADS ON MY BELT!"
He replies
"No.. you haven't been killing any bears, you don't have any bear paws."
By this point you've had enough of this fucker and you'd rather kill him than kill 50 bears looking for only 10 bear paws. Because let's face it not every bear has a paw on it...

In warhammer Online if you've killed 10 bears and don't even have the quest to do it yet. That NPC will still give you your reward. You do not need to speak to him first! The game actually remembers what you've killed.

Wow.. I actually typed a heap of stuff without noticing.... crap. Maybe I will use this more!
